Red Arrows Gnat XR537
(G-NATY)

De Havilland Sea Vixen
(G-CVIX) |
cheaky MD accepts De Havilland directorship
In recognition of his work in the restoration of XR537, Geoff has
today been offered, and accepted, a directorship in De Havilland Aviation.
Based at Bournemouth Airport, De Havilland has an enviable reputation
for aircraft maintenance and jet heritage in both the UK and
internationally.
Geoff's primary role will be to continue in the Jet Heritage role,
and ensure that the Red Arrows Gnat (G-NATY) is restored to flight
as planned. Once airborne, this will be integrated into the
RedArrows.com organisation as an ongoing corporate jet 'experience'
facility.
With the added asset of the Red Bull Sea Vixen (G-CVIX) - the only
flying example in the World - the famous aircraft company looks set
to go from strength to strength in the aviation field.
Geoff said, "I am both honoured and thrilled to be offered this
position, and hope that I can bring my market knowledge to help steer this exemplary
organisation to even greater things in the future".

cheaky sponsors St. Michael's Fireworks
We are pleased to sponsor St. Michael's Middle School's
Association Bonfire and Firework Night.
The event, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot,
is the first Fireworks display at St. Michael's in Colehill, but
promises to be an outstanding display of light and colour.
Geoff has designed a 15,000 effect display which will run for half
an hour to delight the sell-out crowd that have bought tickets for
the event. The display was designed to appeal to families,
utilising many different colour effects to brighten up the drab
November skies.
All profits from the event will be donated to the School's
Association, and cheaky.com are pleased to be involved with what
will be their 20th major fireworks display.
The sponsorship is facilitated through cheaky's Community Jungle
sponsorship programme and through the Lord Knowle Trust, Geoff's
titular charity trust.

He said "The Red Arrows are the public face of the RAF and
their record in helping various charities is yet another way in
which they can help profile worthwhile causes. We are very

Sweet Chariot Competition

Matthew
to lead out World Champions
Matthew Beck (the 7-year-old son of cheaky.com's MD Geoff) was
today announced as the winner of a once-in-a-lifetime national
competition by the England Rugby Junior Supporters Club.
Matthew will be one of the two mascots to lead out the World
Cup Champions this Saturday when they play the Barbarians at the
home of English rugby, Twickenham. Richard Hill will be
captaining the team, although Martin Johnson and Jonny Wilkinson
will be at the match afterwards for the World Cup parade.
Matthew beat hundreds of entrants to win the opportunity to be
the first mascot for the newly crowned World champions plus the opportunity
to meet the World Cup side after the match when they walk the
stadium with the Webb Ellis Trophy.
On top of this great opportunity to stand with his sporting heroes
during the National Anthem, he won four VIP tickets for the match
which has pleased his Dad no end!
The BBC will be filming the match live for Grandstand - so look
out for the lad with the England jersey running out with the
team. He'll be easy to spot - not only is he about half the
height of the players, but he'll be the one with a smile about a
mile wide!

cheaky
to sponsor Yarrells fireworks
We have today finalised plans to donate £2,500 worth of fireworks
to the annual Yarrells School firework Evening.
The money which was originally earmarked for other good causes
earlier in the year, has now been allocated for equally worthwhile
charity events.
The display will be designed by Geoff Beck with supplies from Anytime
Fireworks, Dorset's leading year-round supplier of
pyrotechnics. It has been planned as a 40 minute display
with the emphasis on colour and effects rather than how loud we
can make it!
The display is an annual event that raises money for the school's
Association which in turn assists the local Poole community.
Tickets are virtually sold out, but a few remain available to
pupils and parents.

High Noon

|
red
alert hits town
At 12 noon today the cheaky.com-sponsored Red Arrows display takes
to the skies on Bournemouth seafront.
co-MDs Geoff Beck and Jon Taylor have nominated the Dorset-based
Julia's House Childrens Cancer Trust to be the recipients of the
various events on the day to raise money for this very worthwhile
cause.
Along with the display, a Charity Lunch for local business people
and dignitaries will be held at the BIC. Included in the
charity auction is a Red Arrows teddy bear that has flown with
Team Leader Spike Jepson.
Alongside will be collectible paintings and special edition china
plates specially commissioned from Poole Pottery to commemorate
this 40th Bournemouth Red Arrows Display and the 100th anniversary
of powered flight.
With the Police estimating at least 150,000+ people watching the
events, Geoff and Jon urge everyone to donate to any of the
Official collectors along the seafront. All the costs for
the events have been donated by cheaky.com, so every penny
collected on the day will go to the charity - we are NOT deducting
any costs.
Lloyds TSB have very kindly offered to provide staff and coin
counting machines to tally up what is hoped will be a fantastic collection
from locals and tourists alike.
A fantastic firework display will also take place in the evening
to round off what will be a very memorable day for the charity.
On behalf of the directors, we dedicate the display to the
children that are looked after by the Julia's House nursing
carers.
We hope that you all enjoy the days events.

Cancellation |
musicians
decide to cancel tribute concert
It is with regret that cheaky.com announces that the Radio Waves
OMD-tribute concert in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Charity has been
cancelled.
Due to political interference by people involved with the Official
OMD website, most notably webmaster Paul Browne, the musicians
involved decided that the ticket sales did not warrant taking the evening
forward.
It is hoped that a different venture can be planned in the future
to allow the Marie Curie charity to receive something.
The directors' opinion is that some people ought to get a life and
stop playing such ridiculous games to scupper what was going to be
a good-causes venture. It never ceases to amaze us how petty
some people get through professional jealousy or their warped
sense of behaviour.
The sad thing about Mr Browne's interference is that the charity was
chosen by Andy McCluskey (his very own boss) so the former
front-man of OMD's own choice of charity now stands to lose the
proceeds. Crazy doesn't even begin to describe such a
ridiculous situation, nor the motives of such a sad individual.

cheaky.com
concert raises thousands
Last night's packed concert at the Wimborne Tivoli raised over
£2,000 for the Julia's House Childrens Cancer Hospice
Appeal and the Red Arrows Trust.
With outstanding performances from both the Royal Signals Band and
15-year old soprano Hanna Clarke, the audience were treated to a
fantastic mix of music. The programme ranged from Hanna's phenomenal
unaccompanied version of John Lennon's "Imagine", to a
rousing "World in Union" performed with the band.
Other highlights were the Signals' comedy version of the
"Huntsman" and Hanna delivering a knockout rendition of
"The Flower Duet".
At the finale, Hanna was accompanied by a pipe trio and the band
for a spine-tingling rendition of "Amazing Grace".
cheaky.com's Geoff Beck presented Ann Scovell from Julia's House
with a cheque for £1,500, whilst co-MD Jon Taylor asked Hanna to
accept a cheque for £600 on behalf of the Red Arrows Trust.
Geoff was also asked by the Red Arrows' Adjutant to present Major
Paul Murrell of The Royal Signals with a signed protocol from the
squadron as a thank you for their support.

Oh my Lord!

MD
takes over reigns of ancient title
For a change, news about people in the company, not just the
company.
Co-MD Geoff Beck today acceded to one of his heritable titles
which dates back to the early days of the 12th Century.
The Honourable Lordship of Knowle was first granted in West Dorset to Randulph de Knole
for services to the Crown. During the hundreds of years
since, it has been passed to a number of holders, including
Viscount Bindon and Sir Nicolas Bacon. It was briefly
retained by the Crown (Elizabeth I) until various successions and
finally trusteeship by Lord Hillingdon whilst the succession was
sorted.
Geoff who has already received his Insignia of Title (shown left)
will attend his investiture later on in the year, following a
reception at the House of Lords in mid-June.
Geoff will be setting up a website to document the history of the
title, and copies of the documents held by the Public Records
Office. Although now legally entitled to be addressed as the
Hon. Lord of Knowle, he still insists on plain old 'Geoff'.
"As an hereditary title, it will be great to pass this down
to my son, knowing that the history of it all will continue",
said Geoff.
The history website details will follow soon.
